Not a Hallmark Movie!

I know holiday movies aren't usually like, Academy Award material or anything, but dang this ranges from wooden actors to painfully overacting actors. The 'Big Boss Lady' is one of the worst actors ever... just painful & embarrassing to watch. There are a COUPLE of characters in this that you just can't help but dislike. You can tell the difference in this and Hallmark movies for sure. It's not one and it's not offered on their channels.

One of those amateur Christmas movies

5.5 stars.But for the decent technical aspects, this would be torture to watch. The script is slow and the characters are ordinary. The acting is stilted and wooden all around and the direction is the same as with most of these really low-quality amateur Christmas films; which means the pacing is unnatural and the conversations don't flow or entertain. I think this is how it goes when beginners make movies, because they need a lot of luck and a trained production crew to point out the flaws and fix the thing.My observation is that Hallmark movies are usually a good risk and the others aren't. This is obviously not a Hallmark production.

Two leads are very good

It is a shame that the director couldn't work well with many of the cast. They were over the top either boring or one note. The film was well shot and all, but stereotyping of characters was unfortunate. It just was flat and didn't teach any height of success. Wasted scenes of not much happening and then an overly dramatic moment that is unreal feeling. It misses the mark and the holiday spirit. No emotion, but plastic characters and set pieces.The end as she runs down the street in her strapless gown...not heartfelt with the antagonist, Ruth."Running away from love..." Just doesn't work.
