Dont listen to others ...

I might have given it a 7. But seeing others give such low scores, I gave it a bonus of +1. A very well-made thriller, great cinematography, story, and conduct! Time well spent! The jungle, the vibe was beautiful, the suspect's role was artistically made! Spanish movies are indeed quite a relief from cliche hollywood thrillers.Bravo, Netflix, for bringing it on!

Waste of time

Is hard to describe, horrible acting, she is absolutely annoying and not credible at all, the parents are so toxic that you not want to kid come back, only to screw them, was not even possible to finished.I'm sure the good reviews are from family or people that was part of the production, otherwise not make sense, nobody is capable to have a positive reaction to this absolutely garbage.

Slow burn that never caught fire

This is one of those films I really wanted to like. It's Spanish and dubbed in English, which already creates a small emotional distance for me, but I've watched plenty of foreign films that overcome that with strong storytelling. This one doesn't. It tries very hard to be a psychological suspense in the vein of Prisoners, but it mistakes prolonged agitation for escalating tension. The premise has potential: a grieving child runs off, a wildfire spreads, and a suspicious neighbor becomes the focal point of mounting panic. On paper, that's combustible. In execution, it becomes a repetitive loop. Scene after scene builds toward a confrontation that never quite turns. Characters demand answers, accusations intensify, and yet nothing meaningfully shifts. Instead of the story advancing, it stalls. In a strong thriller, each interrogation, each reveal, each emotional outburst changes the landscape. Information complicates things. Moral lines blur. Stakes tighten. Here, every attempt to extract truth leads back to the same vague "she's in the woods" responses and the same circular suspicion. The tension doesn't escalate; it stretches thin. The characterization also undercuts the suspense. The missing child is framed as grieving but comes across more bratty than sympathetic, making it harder to emotionally invest in the search. The mother's escalating hysteria feels melodramatic rather than grounded, which further distances the viewer. When characters react at a constant emotional peak without modulation, the drama flattens instead of deepening. The film leans heavily on misdirection, planting a mystical, overly helpful neighbor and visual clues meant to fuel suspicion. The effort, the contrivance shows badly. But misdirection only works when it leads somewhere. When ambiguity replaces development rather than enhancing it, the result feels like narrative fog hiding structural weakness. There's a difference between slow burn and stalled momentum. A slow burn builds pressure and then releases it in sharp, decisive turns. This film keeps reheating the same moment without payoff. By the time it reaches its conclusion, the frustration isn't about what happened-it's about how long it took to circle the same emotional beats.Firebrand tried to emulate and match the crisis and moral intensity of Prisoners but didn't have the courage to follow through. There's a solid thriller buried somewhere in this premise. Unfortunately, the execution never quite ignites. The photography and setting was well done. The acting, cringy melodramatic. The dialogue even worse. Overall, the film feels amateurish but hey, gotta start somewhere. Right? I only recommend this film if you have nothing better to do and you can sip on a bottle of spirits with some bite to get you through it.
