Quirky and sweet

7.7 stars.Ted Cooper is a complex and carefree man all in one, which is a dichotomy, so this story is about how he must come to terms with it. He must learn to stop navigating through life trying to make everyone happy around him, and care for himself enough to focus on his own desires.This movie has a lot of unconventional moments where we get to know Ted, watching how he handles so many unlikely situations that pop up in his life. He seems to be unlucky at Christmastime, but it's more than that. He has an affinity for attracting minor inconveniences and misfortunes in every area of his life. You'll just have to see it to understand.The writing of this narrative is quite peculiar, so for me it's refreshing. However, although I thoroughly enjoy 'Merry Christmas, Ted Cooper', it does not precisely express my most sought after form of romance. On the other hand, to give it credit where credit is due, it is amazing and entertaining. I find it also to be interesting, just not as full of attraction and tension as I'd prefer. Whereas it melds the amusing and comical aspects very well, the character of Ted isn't quite the sort of masculine figure he needs to be (in my opinion). Even the female character, whom he has had a crush on for many years, detects a hint of that inner conflict.Don't get me wrong, this is a clever and dynamic production, everything is done almost perfectly right. As a result, I think most of you will totally love this movie. I can't ignore the obvious quality and talent invested into it, so I must give it high praise. I liked it alot, but didn't quite LOVE it, for some inexplicable reason. Perhaps when I watch it again, I will ask myself what I was thinking that I didn't rate this 8.5 or higher.

Charming, with two excellent leads

This is only the third Hallmark Christmas movie I've watched so far this year. The first two were stinkers, this one was not! I've liked the two leads in past movies, and thought they had great chemistry together. I enjoyed the humor - the exchanges between Ted and Ken, the betting pool, to name a couple instances. Absolutely loved Kate's Buddy the Elf costume at her party, and it was fun to see people dressed as Clark Griswold, John McClane, among other Christmas characters. I think I may have spied a cousin Eddie, as well? Though I could be mistaken about that. It was a fun and charming movie all around!
