Absolutely NOT a 10.

Not even close. Mediocre acting at best. No character development so you're not rooting for anyone and none of them are very like able either.Pretty much a vanity project-the writer, director, producer and main antagonist are all the same.The attempt at a "story" is admirable but too many plot holes and things happening that aren't explained. Overall nothing new to the zombie genre and this can barely qualify as zombies.Half of the film is 'found footage' and those scenes were decent enough for FF but felt out of place with the other half.The ending was truly laughable and didn't really wrap it up nicely.Action scenes and special effects were better than I expected since I'm sure the budget was small.Pretty much a waste of time.

They tried, but they did not reach

As with so many other such movies, the crew and friends are giving it tens, but don't be fooled. This is a low-to-mid budget movie with a lot of corners cut. Casting is ambitious but does not hit the mark all the time, direction and filmography is weak, and sound design is poor.This is not a good movie, one best to be missed.

And let me tell you, there is no shortage of them out there. There are basically two zombie categories: 1.) The ones that conform to the tropes and rules of the genre (which is most of them), and 2.) The ones that introduce a unique and creative angle to the zombie mythos.Mirror life is definitely one that belongs in the latter of the two categories! As much as I adore the standard approach, I always welcome an alternate take.Director Kazy Tauginas crafts somewhat of a hybrid format of found footage and your traditional straightforward narrative with interweaving character plots, and he does so very effectively without leaving the audience confused as to what type of film they are watching.The film flows at a very solid pace, with the subtle horror being anchored in plot elements based on reality, which makes it all the more creepy, terrifying, and scary.The cast of the film, lead by Courtney Cavanagh and Kazy Tauginas, all give honest and solid performances that really help sell you the terror.Mirror life: Modern Zombies is a fun, effective, creepy zombie film that conveys a terrifying eye opening commentary of the pharmaceutical industries that are driven by reckless greed and a complete disregard for the humanity it claims to benefit.
