Just plain BAD

It's the stupid story that makes this movie plain BAD. How in the world are we supposed to believe all that stuff happens without anyone any kind of investigation happening? Instead, Part II simply continues if none of Part I ever existed. Yet there was a massive kidnapping operation with numerous dead bodies as collateral? Right. Then they rely on cliches, shallow action sequences and this daddy-daughter dynamic to fill the huge gaps left from a bad story. As mentioned on the Part I review, the only redeemable quality in this movie is the beautiful backdrop of Vancouver Island.

One Mile: Part Two

I just watched the first movie of this duology literally 2 days ago. Same cast as this one; Ryan Phillippe is the dad, same girl plays the daughter Alex. Daughter Alex is now in art school and, big surprise, she gets abducted by the same aggrieved cult gang as in the last movie. Apparently it's revenge for the havoc Dad wreaked in the first movie. In that one Dad killed bad guy Stanley's son, so now it's payback time.Problem is that this movie plays out much the same as the first one. It's just like a different version of the first movie. They could've just picked one or the other, or combined elements of both, and got it over with in one shot. Puzzled as to why the need for a part two.I personally thought the first one was a hair better, but you could pretty much flip a coin, pick one or the other, and you'd have seen 'em both! Neither one was really horrible, and neither was great. Both passable to kill a couple of hours. Only need to pick one as both are the same. I rated the first one a 5, and I'd rate this one a 4.5.

yeah Pointless... Hopefully this isn't a new trend

Hopefully this isn't a sign of the industry, I blame The Strangers 5000 instalments but One Mile Chapter 2 could have easily just been absorbed into its predecessor. Adam Davidson feels there's more story to share here but it's just a rehash of the original and not as effective. Whatever goodwill was left from the first one is squandered here.
