A swing and a miss...

Needless to say that I had indeed never even heard about this 2025 movie titled "Terry McMillan Presents: Preach, Pray, Love" prior to stumbling upon it by random chance here in 2026. And since it was a movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I opted to check it out and give it a fair chance.Though, I have to admit that from the movie's title and cover, then I wasn't really harboring the biggest of expectations. But perhaps writers Michael Elliot and Cory Tynan would prove me wrong and surprise me.The storyline in the movie, as written by Michael Elliot and Cory Tynan, was a swing and a miss in terms of entertaining me. I struggled to find enjoyment in the whole Christian aspect of the narrative, which was a big part of the storyline.I actually wasn't familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list, which was something that certainly spoke in favor of the movie, as I do enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen. The acting performances in the movie were fair. This was not really my cup of tea, and as such it most definitely is not a movie that I will return to watch a second time.My rating of director Damon Lee's 2025 drama "Terry McMillan Presents: Preach, Pray, Love" lands on a generous four out of ten stars.
