A complete unrealistic mess

The Crucifix is a horror film that struggles to deliver on almost every level, despite having a premise that could have been compelling. The story centers around a demonic presence tied to a crucifix, promising high tension, scares, and supernatural intrigue. Unfortunately, the film fails to establish the atmosphere needed to make its premise effective. From the opening sequences, the energy feels flat, with the supposed horror elements lacking intensity or genuine suspense. Instead of building tension, the film meanders, leaving the viewer disengaged. The screenplay is one of the film's major weaknesses. It lacks coherence and emotional depth, making it difficult to connect with the characters or the story. Moments that should feel frightening or suspenseful are undercut by poor pacing and weak dialogue. The narrative attempts to create urgency and danger, but instead often feels repetitive and predictable, draining any potential impact.Acting is inconsistent and unconvincing, with some performers overacting in a way that feels artificial, while others deliver flat or unmotivated performances. The characters rarely feel fully realized or relatable, and as a result, their struggles and reactions fail to generate empathy or interest.Direction and technical execution further hinder the film. Cinematography and editing fail to enhance the tension, and scenes that should be climactic or visually striking are lackluster. There's little creative use of lighting, camera angles, or sound to bolster the horror, leaving the film feeling shallow and uninspired.Overall, The Crucifix is a disappointing horror effort. Its premise is intriguing, but weak writing, uneven performances, poor direction, and lack of atmosphere prevent it from being effective. It's a film that fails to engage, entertain, or terrify, leaving it as a forgettable and unremarkable entry in the horror genre.

I think Stephen Roach should retire

The 1 hour and 34 minutes felt like an eternity, it didn't feel like a horror movie at all. The characters felt 2 dimensional and the plot felt like it was made by some early version of chat gpt. It was so bad that I decided to write a review for it when i don't even review the movies i watch. It really falls short in comparison to other masterpieces in the genre like "the jester 2" or "the jester"
