Beyond my expectations

I went into this film with pretty low expectations, mainly because Swedish productions can be a bit hit or miss. But I was genuinely surprised. This turned out to be one of the better Swedish films I've seen. The story was engaging from the start and it didn't take long before I felt completely invested. The pacing worked well, and the film managed to keep my attention throughout. It felt interesting and immersive rather than slow or forced, which is something I sometimes struggle with in Swedish films. While it didn't quite reach a "wow" level for me, it was definitely solid and worth watching. If you're looking for something engaging and well-made, I'd recommend giving it a shot.

Great film, a must watch.

This is a surprisingly light film about an extremely serious issue. At its heart, it's about decent people choosing to challenge bureaucratic rules in order to make a real difference. It's beautifully shot, well acted and confidently directed. As I don't speak Swedish, I had to concentrate on the subtitles and occasionally found it hard to follow what was going on. Even so, it's a warm and affecting story that's well worth a watch.

Different approach

Dont expect just another WWII movie, this is something different. The approach to the swedish national trauma of "looking the other way" during the the advance of nazi germany, is quite fitting: by keeping a tone of subtle introspective humour, the very serious subject can and probably will be addressed by swedes of all ages.If you think that historic events must be honored and properly examined on screen, then go see a documentary. If you want a dark or thrilling drama, theres a heap of better choices.I watched this in a theatre in sweden, and it was a movie where the audience sometimes actually laughed togerher, finding some common ground in recognizing their swedish mentality.Watch it - its different!
