Plot summary

Eladio, hunting estate keeper, takes a bribe from a veteran hunter. Weeks later, his whole life falls apart. What looked like the opportunity of a lifetime, turns into a macabre descent to hell when he finds out that his misfortune might not be entirely by chance.

A long wait.

Beautiful filmography, it is dry, arid, opressive, good acting and an interesting and chilling premise. As you can see, the film has all the elements to be truly incredible, but unfortunately it is not. It just drags it self from one scene to another, while the storyline develops so slowly that it ends up testing your patience. I like slow burns, but when it is this slow, it ends up becoming a problem. There is no surprise or suspense at the climax, because you have already had too much time to unravel everything that is happening. It is a missed opportunity, however I can see a very talented director.

Misery.

The Wait is a miserable Spanish film, of only death and deceit.As if the day to day plight dealt wasn't enough, supernatural elements and sacrifice torment a family piece by piece and it's not for the first time. A dismal experience for the viewer as well... How do people make a living spitting out this sort of garbage. Write an actual script with dialogue in it and put some story behind it. It's as empty as the landscape, with unnecessary hallucinations, hate that bloody stuff. Dunno what else to say, the son being shot is no accident by the way. There are no performances of note and no joy to be found.
