brain shut down is needed to enjoy this

And even then, its challenging.Im European, but i learned a lot about this movie.Elite rangers are apparently a tier 1 unit.A regiment completely in charge by 70 year old staff sergeants who prefer their most potent candidate to fail the to succeed.A unit so well trained and feared they stare like bambi in headlights the moment there is danger.Aliens so advance to travel across universes have the accuracy of about 2%and so so so much more. This movie is a terminator, predator, battle for la,Independence day love child written by a chat bot.Probably fun for a lot of people but refering to the title, it helps if you just turn your brain of.

From the spirit of the 80s to the chaos of 2026

Patrick Hughes makes a strong start on Netflix with War Machine, a film that seems straight out of the glorious eighties, but with all the visual power of 2026. It's science fiction, it's action, and above all, it's pure entertainment. The premise works because it doesn't try to reinvent the wheel: it blends patriotism, testosterone, and a tough hero reminiscent of the genre's classics. Alan Ritchson shines as a ranger who must survive in natural settings so wild they become characters in their own right: rocks, trees, and rivers accompany every explosive sequence. The best part is that Ritchson doesn't just rely on muscle; he brings dramatic nuances that give his mission emotional weight. This combination of drama, action, and science fiction makes the film a well-rounded pastime, the kind you can enjoy guilt-free.Visually, it's a spectacle: a blockbuster that cries out for the big screen, even though Netflix has secured it as their big release for 2026. And yes, it's not perfect, but it doesn't need to be. What matters is that it gives us two hours of pure adrenaline and nostalgia, as if an '80s hero had traveled back in time to save us from the chaos of the future. In short: War Machine is fun, explosive, and seductive. A film that delivers on its promise: to give us a great time.

"A medal for the worst day in my life"

An isolated group of Soldiers face an unknown threat while in training on their final test for entry into US Ranger regiment, doing whatever they can to survive and reach base.Make no mistake, this is a very familiar premise (very much like Predator).. but for a Netflix entry, it is quite competent and enjoyable. The compact setup takes around half an hour, and delivers a very efficient start to the Action. The cast is good for what they are asked to deliver, and Alan Ritchson delivers a rigid character whose objective is to fulfilling a promise and never give up, while having a decent arc. After his role Playdate (2025), for which I was quite disappointed, I was reminded as to why I like him.The visual design of the enemy is quite interesting (Metal Gear), cool and very effective. Cinematography is fine, some not-perfect CGI moments and great sound design.I might even rewatch this in ..10 years or so. Good enough to recommend! And at no point did it give me anything to laugh about (at it) or feel annoyed.. which is a feat.
