Anticipation built and failed

Well, I certainly was Misdirected with this movie. I thought that it was going to go in a good direction, but it never went there, instead we got an average, at best, attempt at a thriller. Frank Grillo cast as the victim/bad guy, I thought was going to bring greatness to this movie, sadly he didn't, probably because of the poor script. Olga Kurylenko and Oliver Trevena provided no onscreen chemistry, surprisingly, the latter provided the best acting of the two..It's a shame as I thought the initial premise had the makings of a great thriller, but failed to deliver. I would just recommend it.

Spazzed out movie, no clear plot

Misdirection is a 2026 action thriller that initially feels like it has potential, especially with Frank Grillo in the lead role. Grillo has built a reputation for bringing grit, intensity, and physical presence to action-driven films, and that expectation alone creates anticipation. Early on, there are flashes of promise. A few of the action sequences are sharp and well-executed, with solid choreography and enough tension to momentarily pull you into the story.Unfortunately, those pivotal moments that truly catch your attention do not sustain the rest of the film. The problem is not that there are no good scenes. The problem is that the film cannot maintain momentum between them. The pacing drags significantly, and long stretches feel uninspired and flat. Instead of building tension consistently, the narrative stalls, making the experience uneven and at times difficult to sit through. The screenplay is where the film struggles most. It lacks cohesion and emotional grounding. Character motivations feel underdeveloped, and the dialogue rarely adds depth to the conflict. Rather than escalating stakes in a meaningful way, the story seems to wander, relying on scattered twists and bursts of action to compensate for weak structure. The script never fully commits to its premise, leaving the audience disengaged.Frank Grillo delivers a committed performance, as he often does. He brings credibility and effort to the role, and you can see that he is trying to elevate the material. However, the writing limits his impact. Even with his strong screen presence, the character feels constrained by a script that does not give him enough to work with. It is frustrating because his talent deserves stronger material. The twist toward the end is one of the film's better choices. It genuinely surprises and adds a brief spark of energy that makes you wish the rest of the movie had been constructed with the same level of focus. However, a solid final pivot cannot fully redeem a film that struggled to hold attention for much of its runtime.Ultimately, Misdirection feels like a streaming-level thriller rather than a theatrical experience. It has moments of competence and a dependable lead performance, but the lackluster screenplay and inconsistent pacing prevent it from being memorable. It is not something you need to rush out to see, and it is certainly not a film that demands a rewatch.

it's not even worth watching

Thriller? In the past, Thriller had specific patterns... Which sequence of this film can be considered Thriller?:D Honestly, if you value your time, don't watch this movie! A repetitive story without an ounce of creativity, a worthless essence, an amateurish and unengaging narrative, tiresome and boring... Overall, it's not even worth watching!...
