Bland and generic...

Of course I had never even heard about this 2025 horror movie titled "Mr. Buzzkill", but given my love of all things horror, of course I needed no persuasion to sit down and watch the movie. Truth be told, I didn't exactly harbor any grand expectations to the movie, given the movie's title and somewhat generic cover. But still, since it was a horror movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I gave it a fair chance.The storyline in "Mr. Buzzkill", as written by Shawn Burkett, Rob Collins and Joey Tiemeyer, proved to be generic and mundane. You will not be in for a particularly grand slasher horror experience here, should you opt to watch this 2025 movie. I do love slasher movies, especially the likes of "Friday the 13th", "A Nightmare On Elm Street" and such, but this well it hardly reached such movies to the ankles.For a slasher film, then the movie failed to deliver a memorable slasher. The killer in the movie was bland, and once you've finished watching the movie, I am sure that the recollection of this slasher will soon fade from memory.The only familiar face on the cast list for me, was actress Kaylee Williams. Some of the acting performances were dubious and questionable, whereas others were fine. So it was a bit of a mixed bag of nuts here.Had they opted to put more violence, kill scenes, visceral murder and mayhem into the movie, then maybe, just maybe, the movie would have fared better.Now, if you enjoy slasher flicks, there is a little bit of entertainment to be found here, but this is definitely not a movie that I will recommend you to rush out and get to watch. And it most certainly is not a movie that will grace my screen a second time.My rating of director Rob Collins's 2025 movie "Mr. Buzzkill" lands on a generous four out of ten stars.

Indie slasher that does not reach the mark

This is poorly acted and poorly directed. There is a good movie in here somewhere, but there is no way this project could reach it. Their budget was limited, and they probably did the best with what they had, but it isn't that much, and it is not something I would rewatch. I don't think the movie deserves a collection of 1-stars, but it certainly does not warrant any 10s, so beware false reviews.
