Well...

Without having watched the 2022 movie "Retro Freaks", I still opted to sit down to watch the 2025 horror comedy movie "Retro Freaks II", solely because I had the opportunity to do so. But I virtually had no idea what I was in for.Writer David James Ryan put together a fair enough script, though it was somewhat bordering on being on the boring side. Sure, it was a watchable enough movie for what it was, but I have to admit that my attention span on the movie was dwindling as the movie trotted on and on without much of anything overly interesting happening. And after having sat through this sequel, I can't claim to be in any rush to track down the first movie.I literally had never seen a single actor or actress on the cast list in this movie. I am not saying that it was a bad thing, not at all, because I do enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen. The acting performances in "Retro Freaks II" were adequate.There is a lot of great material to take in here in the movie, especially if you are a collector of toys and comics, which I happen to be. So I really enjoyed a lot of the locations in the movie as well.My rating of directors Michael Goldermann and David James Ryan's 2025 movie "Retro Freaks II" lands on a generous four out of ten stars.
