Plot summary

Much better than expected!

First off, I enjoy checking out any new horror flick. I came across "Skinwalker Island" while just flipping through streaming movies. The cover picture grabbed my attention as it appeared to have more quality invested in it than your average run-of-the-mill streaming horror. And having "Skinwalker" in the title, I simply had to check it out.Immediately to my surprise I noticed that filming was much better than I had imagined. The picture quality was clear and solid, the camera angles were fitting and accurate, and the sound quality was really good.As for acting, all I can say is Jasmine Tamposi did a fantastic job playing the role of Lucy. I had never heard of her until now. She could easily qualify for a role in a big box office hit. I found her very down to earth, natural, and most importantly believable. I have seen enough movies in my lifetime to know when decent quality was put into a production that doesn't have a huge budget.All I can say is well done and I would love to see more of Jasmine Tamposi in the future!

Well, nope...

Now, I have to admit that the movie's title initially was sufficient to make me stop and take notice. And since "Skinwalker Island" was a horror movie, and one that I had not seen already - or even heard about - of course I opted to check it out. I am, after all, a huge fan of all things horror.The storyline in the movie was bland. I was not particularly impressed with the contents that writer Jon Carlo managed to conjure up for the script. It was a rather bland horror experience.Something that certainly worked in favor of the movie was the fact that I wasn't familiar with a single actress or actor on the cast list. The acting performances in "Skinwalker Island" were fair.If you are a horror fan, then this is not really a movie that I would recommend you to rush out and waste 78 minutes on watching. Nor is it a movie that will ever grace my screen a second time.My rating of writer and director Jon Carlo's 2025 horror movie "Skinwalker Island" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.
