Sweet Movie

This is a sweet movie and the romance developed naturally. Little (10 yo) Robbie stole the show - he's a great actor! Lucy's happy personality is infectious. So glad to see a movie with people of color! Not your typical Hallmark "white" Christmas! Did not like the product placement of 'THRIVENT" in the middle of the show... WTF?! Hallmark, really?

The kid is the star!

I don't usually review movies but the kid was so endearing, sweet, energetic, and lovable, he absolutely made the movie. He's literally jumping uo n down with enthusiasm in almost every scene. The chemistry with the anchor and his mom really rang true. He was so cute and real in every scene. Literally you could feel his enthusiasm in every scene. I can't wait to see what this young man grows up and does.

I am not usually a fan of Tamera Mowry-Housley. Most of her movies with Hallmark are a style that doesn't appeal to me, like Santa Stake Out. I actually had to check the credits to be sure this was the same actress.A star reporter at Christmas is not a new story and they usually end up in a romantic entanglement. But despite the similarity, this is a different flavor. They manage to work in many of the usual Christmas activities, but it seems like each encounter for Adam leads to a sweet story on air. In that sense it reminds me of another movie that had Teryl Rothery, Road to Christmas (2018). It also has a sub-plot of a community sharing the spirit of helping others at Christmas.Tamera Mowry-Housley is likeable and her acting is good. I don't know how good Elijah-Justus Lewis is in his acting as Robbie but he is fun. He lifts the enjoyment level throughout. B. J Britt is a little stiff, more so early on. He lightens up as the movie goes on, albeit still a little on the stiff side.I didn't really expect the requisite conflict and I thought it was forced and derivative following a plot device common in many other rom/coms. It was also rushed from onset to resolution.Despite the previous paragraph, I enjoyed this movie probably as much, no significantly more than any other new Hallmark movie so far this year.
