Typical found footage, no story, no budget, no ending & bad execution.

'The Fairfield County Four' falls into the trap that so many found footage movies have trouble with. The first 80% of the film is just people wandering around chatting, you get snippets of information, but most of it is padding.Acting isn't brilliant and the dialogue, as usual, sounds unprepared or ad-libbed and stretched out with people tripping up on sentences, slowing down the speed they talk or repeating things, again all done to pad the running time.This film falls into the other deadly trap that after 1hr 10 minutes of not much happening, everything goes to 100% batshit crazy in the final 10 minutes, there are lots of people running and screaming incoherently, the camera work gets way worse (in this case done on purpose to hide the terrible werewolf suit), and it's all over far too quickly.What it boils down to is someone having the premise of 'lets do a Werewolf legend in the woods movie', but they don't have a story so don't do any proper build up, they don't have any budget so effects and monster don't look good and they don't have a proper ending so it just stops.It's not easy to make a film feel like a fake 'real documentary', it actually needs lots of planning, you can't just wing it because it ends up looking fake, so this is a pass from me.

First half good

The 3 stars are for the first half hour or so of this film that builds up nicely- found footage esc film, think: Blair witch project etc. Then it turns into a funny, ridiculous, badly made low budget, idiotic film that makes you switch it off. Very disappointing. Not sure what else to say but don't watch .

Fun for fans of the genre

I usually don't leave many reviews on here, but when I saw the review complaining about the sound guy repeatedly talking about picking up other sounds, I had to speak up. That was one of the best parts of the film ???It was a running joke. It was especially funny how some of the sounds just kept repeating. How many leaf blowers can there me in one town lol. Outside of that, the film had a slow burn build up a-la Blair Witch Project.Like a lot of found footage, most of the action comes near the end. That werewolf looked LEGIT. I'm surprised they were able to get that quality considering this is a low budget film. More power to them.I wouldn't call this horror-comedy, but there's certainly some levity throughout to keep the film grounded in reality. The denouement was brutal and had a few surprises you didn't see coming. Overall, a solid entry into the space.
